TL3 Tools is written and maintained by three people at TL3 Communications in Vancouver, BC. Between us we cover the everyday calculators, the developer utilities, and the data-format guides on this site. Every page passes through at least one of us before it ships, and the links on our blog posts jump straight to the author who wrote them.
Lead Writer — Calculators & Practical Math
Sarah is the lead writer for the calculator side of TL3 Tools. She writes the guides on everyday percentage calculations, counting characters for social media, unit conversion basics, and EMI planning — the kind of math people meet in daily life rather than in a textbook. Her posts start from a real scenario and work the numbers out step by step before pointing to the matching tool. She is based in Vancouver and keeps each page focused on the question the reader actually came with.
Technical Writer & Tool Developer
Alex builds and documents the web utilities at the heart of TL3 Tools. He writes the developer-facing guides on the site — Base64 encoding, regex for beginners, password security, and color theory for web designers — and his posts assume a reader who wants to understand the mechanism, not just copy an answer. Much of his writing walks through how a thing actually works before showing the tool that does it in the browser. He focuses on keeping developer-oriented tools both powerful and simple to use.
Editor — Data Formats
Jane is the editor for TL3 Tools' data-format content. She writes and edits the guides on structured data, including the posts on understanding JSON and on choosing between CSV and JSON, and explains the tradeoffs in plain language rather than jargon. Her background is in technical editing, and she is the final set of eyes on most pages before they ship, checking that each one stays accurate and consistent with the rest of the site. She works from the Vancouver office alongside the rest of the TL3 Communications team.
